I’ve been on a mission to get more content out there about myself and the services I offer, and the response has been incredible. Clients, potential clients, and partners have all shared positive feedback, telling me they feel like they know me better and appreciate the personal touch I bring to my work. That’s exactly why I believe every small business owner should be putting themselves out there, showing who they are, and explaining how they can help.

With today’s technology, creating content is easier than ever—you don’t need a Hollywood studio to make something impactful. And yes, I get it—it can be scary to put yourself out there. As a business owner, it can be intimidating to expose yourself, especially if you’re shy or worried about what others might think. But let me tell you, those concerns are normal, and they’re exactly why it’s so important to push through them.

Here’s the deal: when I visit a website, I’m far more likely to connect with a business that has a real face and a real story behind it. I don’t care how beautifully designed a site is—if it’s a nameless, faceless organization with no personality, I’m moving on. On the other hand, if I see a video of someone introducing themselves, explaining why they started their business, and showing what they’re really good at, I’m all in. That personal touch adds a level of credibility and connection that a sleek design alone just can’t deliver.

I know some of you might be thinking, “But I’m not comfortable on camera,” or “What if people don’t like what they see?” Here’s what I say to that: if they don’t like your video, they probably won’t like talking to you on the phone either. And that’s okay! I’d rather someone see my video, decide we’re not a fit, and move on, than waste both of our time on a call that goes nowhere.

I’ll be the first to admit—I’m 5’9″, bald, and my face is always some shade of red. But you know what? That’s me. And if I can put myself out there, so can you. The truth is, there’s a huge benefit to letting people see the real you before they decide to work with you. I’d rather they know who I am upfront, so when they pick up the phone, they’re already comfortable with who they’re talking to.

So yes, I believe that getting yourself on camera and sharing your story is one of the best things you can do for your business. It builds credibility, it helps people connect with you, and it ensures that the right clients are the ones reaching out. If you agree, let’s start creating content that truly reflects who you are. I’m ready whenever you are.
